About Me :)

I am a recent graduate from the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign, earning a BA in English with a minor in Journalism. I have always loved writing, and I plan on pursuing a career in journalism, publishing, or copy editing. My interests are expansive!

My love for writing, especially journalistic writing, progressed when I continued my education at UIUC after graduating from community college. In my first semester at the University, I joined the student paper: The Daily Illini, and I instantly fell in love with journalism. While I find editing and writing fulfilling, there is something so profoundly rewarding about using my position as a journalist to tell the stories of the individuals I come across.

After writing four articles for The Daily Illini, I became the Features section editor. Five months later, I was chosen to be the Interim Summer Editor-in-Chief. Then, I was selected to be the Managing Editor for Reporting. In my work, I received substantial experience in reporting, writing, interviewing, online publishing, print publishing, AP style writing, Microsoft suite, Adobe software, copy editing, team management, and leadership

I loved working for the DI, and thanks to the student paper and my journalism minor, my love for writing grew beyond any future plans I made for myself in high school. I realized that writing and editing is my passion, and I belong in an industry that values written word. Post student newspaper and post graduation, I hope that I will be able to expand my passion into a job that truly invigorates me to keep telling stories.
